Breaking the mould from the conventional job ad...


I've worked in recruitment in various locations including Hong Kong, Australia and the UK and I have learnt that this job is the same wherever you go.

The process is the same, the requirements of your clients are the same and all the job ads written by job recruiters all still sound the same, whether you're in Manchester or Melbourne. 

I often wonder how boring these ads must sound to the job hunter after reading the 200th advert which begins with "My client....". If you think they are dull to read, let me assure you that writing them is not the most exciting role of a recruiter. 

On my search for some job ad writing inspiration I did find some incredibly amusing job ads. I'm not too sure how effective they were in attracting the right skill set for the required position, but I expect they had a number of applications as they were so much fun.
