Date: Thursday, 9th February, 2012
Location: Preston North End Football Club, Sir Tom Finney Way, Deepdale, Preston, PR1 6RU
Time: 18.00
In light of 18 months of financial restructuring and coming to terms with life on reduced incomes in npower League One, Preston North End are honing the art of marketing on a budget. A presentation that has previously been an amusing eye opener when broadcast to several larger and more corporately driven clubs at a Football League marketing and commercial forum, the club will share their hints and tips on how to make the most of small staffing levels and a marketing budget measured in the hundreds rather than the thousands.
Adrian Ward graduated from the University of Leeds in 2006 with a BA Honours in Broadcast Journalism and in May 2010 was appointed Marketing Manager at Preston North End FC. This was a fantastic opportunity for him to use his skills in media and PR to promote the football club to new levels.
Adrian will explain how during difficult recessionary times, the club saw off competition from Manchester United, Manchester City and Stockport County to land the accolade of best marketing campaign in 2010.
The award recognised the sheer determination and effort the entire off-field team put into this promotion.
"I still vividly remember Deepdale Duck risking life and limb alongside our community manager and media editor, to put together the promotional video for the game - wearing PNE colours and a giant sandwich board telling tourists on the Blackpool sea front to go and watch PNE was a brave move!" Adrian Ward.
By using a large variety of media to make the promotional campaign a success it is clear to see that you can achieve your targets through effective marketing on a budget.
Registration is from 6pm, the event starts at 7pm and finishes at 8pm.
