CIM - Is social media killing ad campaigns?

Just how does social media fit into a company's marketing strategy, and how can it work with other media? James Pearson from MadeByPi, will share his experience of social media, and use live case studies to highlight how it can be used to make marketing your business more effective. James will also highlight where social media might start replacing conventional channels to market. Beware the ad campaign?!

Date: Thursday 23rd February
Time: from 6.00pm
Location: Leeds Metropolitan University, Business School, The Rose Bowl, Portland Gate
Leeds, LS1 3HE

This event is ideal for anyone involved with marketing, across the industry spectrum, who works with multiple channels to market. As the web evolves, brands and consumers are becoming more social online. The latest Nielsen report shows Facebook doubled its revenue in the last year, reinforcing the huge amount of time consumers of all ages, incomes, and demographics spend on social networks.

Today digital increasingly takes the lead in an ad campaign, where the measurability of return on investment (ROI) offered by digital marketing is invaluable. Social media is a key part of this new landscape, but with so many channels and opinions competing for consumers' attention, it's easy for them to ignore a marketing message unless it's something they really want to hear.

So is social media a threat or an opportunity? How can the advertising industry make the most of it? In this event we hear how 'high profile brand / retailer' with a 'high budget' TV and press advertising budget, is learning more from their customers' likes and dislikes by following their online behaviour.

CIM discuss how to turn a like into a love. How to keep up with today's fast-paced consumer lifestyle and how to transform a simple ad campaign into a full-blown word-of-mouth marketing phenomenon.

Registration is from 18:00; the event begins at 18:30 and finishes at 20:00. This is a CPD category 10 event. If you are non EU resident, please call the Events Team to make your booking.
