The first of the PROFESSIONAL EDGE events presented by the Professional Liverpool Institutes and Societies Group, which CIM Merseyside is part of.

Dr Paul Redmond

Thursday 7th October 2010 from 6:00 pm

Victoria Gallery and Museum, University of Liverpool, Ashton Street, Liverpool, Merseyside, L69 3DR

Prices from £20.00

Description

Generation theory means that the way we relate and interact with the next generation has to change.

Generation Y: The most educated, opinionated, outspoken and self confident generation in history - digital natives who have never experienced life without a mobile phone or had to get off the sofa to change the channel.

Generation Y does not react to marketing or management in way that we know things now. A whole new set of rules apply here, so learn how to deal with your future employees, managers and customers.

Speaker: Dr Paul Redmond, University of Liverpool, Head of Careers and Employability Service.

Dr. Paul Redmond is one of the country's leading experts on generational theory and the graduate labour market. Paul's work brings him into contact with a range of organisations, including the BBC, AGR, the NHS and many other leading national and international firms. Paul's research on the future of work, 'Generation Y' and the rise of 'helicopter parents' is currently attracting considerable attention among both graduate recruiters and the national media.

One hour category 10 CPD can be claimed for this event but CPD certificates will not be provided.

Registration is from 6:00pm, the event begins at 7:00pm and finishes at 8:00pm
