On Thursday 13 May, from 6pm, they'll be taking over the
Contact Theatre and getting their hands on the exciting technology that FutureEverything have set up for
GloNet 2010. GloNet is a prototype for a new kind of globally networked event, enabling a shift from single-city events to ones taking places simultaneously at venues across the globe.
Through high-speed synchronous data links, they'll be the chance to expand the reach out of Manchester. Sit on a sofa alongside a counterpart from Sao Paulo, Brazil using the
GloNet Front Room. Or try out the
Talking Boxes for a beer and a chat with someone from Vancouver, Canada. Members of Manchester's digital community will be in both locations, hosting the local interaction for FutureEverything so keep your eyes peeled for faces you recognise.

ABOUT NORTHERN DIGITALS
A monthly meet up where digital creatives from in and around Manchester can get away from their screens and talk to other digital creatives over a pint. Usually held on the first Thursday of every month, at The Northern in Manchester's Northern Quarter, there's no format, just a chance to talk about what ever you want really, and the opportunity to make new contacts, organise collaborations, land yourself some freelance work, land yourself a job, hit on the next big idea or just have a drink before you go home.

ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA CAFE MANCHESTER
Set up in October 2009 The Social Media Cafe has been the place where people with all interests in Social and Digital technology can meet-up. Usually held at BBC Manchester on the first Tuesday of the month. It regularly attracts over 100 developers, artists, social media experts, bloggers and activists. Events are usually held in an unConference style where people can pitch up and propose sessions around their particular interest. Due to the diversity of interests many projects and ideas have spin out of the cafe. The Cafe uses the #smc_mcr hashtag to enable events and announcements to be followed.
