Liverpool Art Fair is an annual four day event which aims to showcase a wide range of affordable original art by a plethora of local artists; providing a unique insight into the region's creative talent and the opportunity for everyone, from seasoned collector to first time art buyer, to own their own piece of the Liverpool art world.

Liverpool Art Fair 2013 will take place from 24-27th May, at Camp and Furnace in Liverpool's thriving Baltic Triangle. Once again, this is an open submission event, and we are inviting all artists based within a 25 mile radius of Liverpool, to submit work for inclusion. This gives the opportunity for any individual in creative or marketing services (from fashion to web-design) to just "drop-in" and meet a Mentor to discuss - in confidence - any issue or question relating to their personal and/or business development with an experienced Mentor.

Who are Nathaniel & Tom?

Tom Stables is a forward thinking, always ruminative, creative thinker with a love of business combining digital, graphic, web and social media design. Tom also lectures for Futures at the University of Central Lancashire, delivering the "Your Online Reputation" module. He is also the passionate creative brain behind the 3ManFactory training courses.

Nathaniel Cassidy is best summed up by his Twitter profile bio: "propaganda wizard @3manfactory | Loves: hats, gin, sunglasses & colour coding *warning may contain nonsense, opinion & errors" His input at 3ManFactory is in utilising interactive PR, social media, experiential marketing and event experiences. Nathaniel is the colourful, leftfield ideas man who likes to spend his time dreaming up ways to make buzz, chatter and noise both on and offline.

Tom and Nathaniel are experienced communicators and their workshops and courses always have a relaxed and easy going atmosphere. Qt is an application framework based on C++ which is used for the rapid development of software on platforms including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The course will demonstrate how to use Qt Creator, a cross-platform integrated development environment, for designing user interfaces and developing application code using a drag and drop approach. An understanding or an interest in programming is essential for getting the most out of the course. No previous knowledge of Qt or C++ is required. By the end of the course you will have the skills to develop simple Qt C++ desktop applications.

Qt is developed by Digia (http://qt.digia.com/) and this taster course will get students started on the professional short course material used by industry (the “Qt in Education” syllabus). The insights gained from this learning will enable students to self study other specific areas of interest using the additional materials provided by Digia.

Qt is described as the “most powerful cross-platform application and UI framework” currently used in industry.

The event will take place in the John Dalton Building in computer lab C2.03.

This course is part of the MMU Futures programme and you will earn 7 Bronze points.
