Manchester Animation Festival is the UK’s largest animation festival. Hosted in HOME, the festival brings one of the UK’s biggest animation hubs together and invites the international community to delight in all things animated.
Whether you're an animation expert or just curious, there is something for all levels and interests. There will be animated short competitions, feature films, retrospective screenings, workshops, networking events, panel discussions, masterclasses and screen talks from the industry’s finest over three packed days.
40 YEARS OF BARRY PURVES: After 40 years in the animation industry we take a look back on Barry’s career and talk through it with the man himself in an event not to be missed.
MAKING OF ISLE OF DOGS: We take a look behind the scenes of Isle of Dogs as we are joined by Head Painter Roy Bell and animator Tim Allen for a look at the making of this stop motion feature hit.
MAKING OF BECCA’S BUNCH: Join the team behind the show for an insightful making of session and learn how they created the world of Wagtail Woods and brought Becca’s Bunch to life.
MAKING IT IN MANCHESTER: Making it in Manchester returns with a selection of studios and practitioners to showcase their studios and what makes Manchester one of the nation’s premier animation hotspots. Featuring Flow Creative; Kilogramme and Flix Facilites.
ANIJAM SCREENING (PG): The AniJam challenge is simple. Create an animated film based around a specific theme in 48hrs. 48hrs to create an animation from start to finish? Sound Crazy?
