Looking for your next role in this industry? Here are our top tips…
1. Your role is about building relationships so you need to demonstrate that ability from the get go - and throughout the interview process. Be warm, welcoming, able to talk well and listen better. These are the things you need to think about when you are presenting yourself to an employer - for this type of role the way you say things is just as important as what you say so make sure you bare this in mind.
2. Do you know the answer to questions like ‘Why is establishing a long term relationship with clients so important?’ and ‘What is the best way to earn trust from customers?’ questions these are the type of questions you are likely to be asked in an interview for many of these positions, so make sure you have thought about the answer in preparation. You can see a full list of potential questions and how to answer them in our blog '10 Expert Questions For Interviewing An Account Manager'
3. RESEARCH. The most important thing for any interview is to make sure you have researched the company. What do they work on? What are their core values? Who are their main competitors? Have they hit the headlines recently? These are all things you need to know, it’s highly possible they’ll arise as an interview question and if you aren’t prepared that is a massive turn off for the employer. If they don’t ask, it’s also good to weave your research into another one of your answers. Show you have taken the time to prepare for the interview, and that you understand the company and what their goals are so they know that you have made an informed decision to attend the interview and do genuinely want the job.
